Chinese-Backed ETF Firm Builds a Distribution Team

Reported by Tommy Fernandez

Philly-based ETF shop RevenueShares [profile], a division of VTL Associates, has hired eight marketing and distribution executives in a push to grow marketshare in both the advisor and institutional channels.

The team will consist of seven external consultants, and three internals, led by newly-hired head of distribution Steve Cornelius, previously a Hartford Mutual Funds [profile].

The move takes place two-months after Chinese private equity firm Suzhou Industrial Kaida Venture Capital paid $7 million for a 22 percent stake in RevenueShares' parent VTL. Among other things, the deal will help the ETF bolster its product lineup.

The new seven external consultants include new hires and promotions. They are:

Edward Rumell, Advisor Consultant, is a RevenueShares veteran who brings knowledge of the revenue-weighted indexes and 13 years of combined experience in sales and portfolio management. Most recently, Rumell served as Vice President of Sales ETF/SMA Specialist with First Trust Portfolios.

Eric Monteodorisio, Advisor Consultant, has a diverse background in the financial services industry. Previously Regional Director of Sales with HRC Fund Associates, Monteodorisio was most recently responsible for externally raising assets for a diverse line up of products among RIA and wirehouse advisors in a 17-state territory.

David Cohen, Advisor Consultant, brings 17 years experience in securities sales, research and portfolio management. Prior to joining RevenueShares, Cohen was Senior Investment Specialist and Regional Vice President with Symetra, where he was responsible for the distribution team in the greater mid-Atlantic region.

James Hanrahan, Advisor Consultant, offers 20 years sales experience and an impressive track record in increasing sales and a proven ability to foster relationships with financial advisors and RIAs. Hanrahan was with Automatic Data Processing (ADP) for the last 13 years, most recently serving as a District Manager.

Ryan Hadrava, Advisor Consultant, boasts 17 years of experience trading securities with the last 13 years focused on exchange-traded products. Prior to joining RevenueShares, Hadrava was Senior Vice President and Senior Trader with Jefferies LLC in New York.

Grant Markgraf, Advisor Consultant, demonstrates a striking ability to grow sales year-over-year based on his track record with First Trust Portfolios LP over the past eight years.

Philip McKeon, Advisor Consultant, is another RevenueShares veteran who returns after a stint as a Regional Vice President with Longview Capital Management responsible for managing all retail sales in multi-state territory.

RevenueShares Expands Team to Support Growth Initiative

Expansion includes new head of distribution and internal and external advisor consultants

PHILADELPHIA – July 30, 2013 – RevenueShares, a division of VTL Associates, has expanded its marketing and distribution staff to support the development and distribution of its existing and future line-up of exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Led by incoming Head of Distribution Steve Cornelius, the assembled team is part of an aggressive push to educate the advisor marketplace on the progression of indexing and the benefits of the RevenueShares strategy that rebalances known indexes by top-line company revenue rather than market capitalization.

A former divisional vice president at Hartford Mutual Funds, Cornelius has proven skills in growing securities distribution year-over-year and coaching new and veteran sales professionals to increase sales and productivity.

“We are on the cusp of seeing great market demand as more advisors increase their familiarity with the benefits of revenue-weighting. With Steve leading our diverse team of advisor consultants to educate the industry about the superiority of revenue-weighted ETFs, we are confident RevenueShares will quickly attract a greater market share in the U.S. and globally,” says Vince Lowry, President of RevenueShares and CEO of VTL Associates.

“Since 2008, the RevenueShares family of ETFs has outperformed its market cap weighted counterpart. Our experienced team will work with advisors to help clients with solutions that outperform benchmarks using a fundamentally enhanced passive strategy such as RevenueShares,” adds Cornelius.

The marketing and distribution team of advisor consultants has experience with the RevenueShares brand and/or existing relationships with institutions and advisors across the country.

RevenueShares’ three internal and seven external advisor consultants will share the benefit of RevenueShares enhanced index strategy with advisors and partner with advisors to effectively use ETFs within their portfolios.

  The external advisor consultants include:
