Brian Storms, former head of UBS Global Asset Management, will take over management of Mercer's Human Resources Consulting unit, Marsh announced on Wednesday. Storms, who joined Mercer six months ago, is currently vice chairman of Mercer HR Consulting and also a member of the board of directors of Mercer, Inc. He left UBS in April of 2004.
The move is part of Marsh's strategy to divide Mercer Inc. into separate business areas following the retirement of Mercer President
Peter Coster. Storms will head Mercer HR Consulting and David J. Morrison will head Mercer's specialty consultancies. Storms and Morrison will report to MMC's head,
Michael G. Cherkasky.
The changes will take effect at the end of the month, said MMC spokeswoman Barbara Perlmutter. The firm is not going public with any further organizational and personnel changes related to Wednesday's news.
Morrison, currently president and CEO of Mercer Management Consulting, will have each of Mercer's specialty consulting unit heads report to him. The firms include Oliver Wyman, Mercer Strategy and Operations, Lippincott Mercer, NERA and Mercer Delta Organizational Consulting.
