2009 Has So Far Claimed 208 Fund Casualties

So far this year, fund firms have gotten rid of 208 funds, USA Today's John Waggoner reports, citing Lipper data. This compares to 281 for the whole of 2008.

Fund companies have eliminated 72 funds through mergers, compared with 172 for all of 2008.
