Hedge funds-of-funds for Europeans

The Journal explains a way for European small-time investors to get into a hedge fund. They can purchase shares in a hedge fund-of-funds with an initial investment of just $5,000 to $25,000 rather than the usual $100,000 to $1 million. The article says the advantages of these products over mutual funds include that they "have more flexibility than regular stock mutual funds, [and] can take bets on markets moving in both directions." Total assets in these funds is now $19.7 billion in Europe.
Emerging market bond funds roar back

Investors looking to spice up their bond portfolios are starting to drift back to emerging-market debt funds. Year-to-date the funds have gained an average of 11.14 percent according to Lipper. The article weighs the ins and outs of this type of debt.
