Marc Doman has been named managing director of AIM Global Advisors Ltd., a leading money market fund provider in the UK and part of Amvescap, one of the world's largest independent fund management groups.

Doman served as head of sales and marketing since 1996, during which time AIM Global's funds under management have more than tripled from US$342 million (œ219 million) to US$1.084billion (œ673 million). In addition to marketing the established Dollar and Sterling Portfolios, Doman oversaw the launch of the Euro Portfolio earlier this year.

Doman was previously with Gartmore and then Invesco, also part of Amvescap, where he was European marketing director. He succeeds Leslie Schmidt who is to take up a senior management position within Invesco but will remain as a Director of AIM Global.

"Marc has made a decisive contribution to the growth of the understanding of money market funds in the UK, and to the growth of our business in this exciting product," said Schmidt. "I look forward to seeing AIM Global continue to prosper under his leadership as I take on new challenges at Invesco."
