The Columbia Funds have joined the growing ranks of fund companies with a dedicated online advisor resource center with the new launch of its password- protected advisor site. Financial planners register for use at the new site.

The new site will include sales ideas and prepared presentations for advisors, transcripts of conference calls with portfolio managers, and interactive exercises for use with clients.

Portfolio holdings will be posted on a monthly basis, and Columbia's schedule of investments on a quarterly basis.

A Columbia spokesperson said that "advisors have the need for information and need to access it on a timely basis." The spokesperson also reported that the new site is part of an overall planned upgrade of the Columbia Funds Web Site.
