Oak Associates is planting yet another seedling. The Akron, Ohio-based firm is starting up the Live Oak Health Sciences Fund this summer, the fifth in its arboreal series.

"Oak expects the fund to open for business on June 29th," said a spokesperson.

Mark Oelschlager, founder Jim Oelschlager's son, and Brandi Allen will co-manage the fund. For both, the venture represents a first foray into portfolio management.

"They have been securities analysts for the funds," explained the spokesperson.

The offering fits into the boutique firm's trademark domestic growth investment style.
