401k Web Advisor Layoffs

The Motley Fool is laying off more than half of its remaining staff, according to the Washington Post. The move comes on the heels of the publisher's launch of a new investment advisory business. One of the markets targeted by the advisory service is 401(k) plan investors. The 187 employees company is based in Alexandria, Virginia and once employed 400. The layoffs are intended to bring the company closer to operational profitability.

American Century has upgraded its advisor focused Web site. New features include for IPro include detailed fund profiles and strategy sheets with current holdings, fund performance data for multiple classes, interactive calculator tools that help illustrate potential results of investment decisions, professional presentations and practical marketing brochures.
