A Veteran Matthews Executive Strikes Out on Her Own

Reported by Tommy Fernandez

Jodi Morris' new investment portfolio has gone decidedly global: whether it is money exchange systems in Kenya, the pillars of character taught at the all-girls Dajara Academy, or the challenges of being a woman executive in the financial industry.

The 22-year financial industry veteran has moved on from her former position as senior vice president, U.S. client management and business development for Matthews International Capital Management to speak, write and serve as an activist on a number of global issues.

These issues include leadership development, girls education and empowerment, as well as global investing.

She has experience tackling big projects. While at Matthews, where she worked for nearly eight-years, Morris helped grow the firm's assets from $5 billion to over $26 billion. She oversaw client management and business development.

Before that, she served as a partner and director of sales and marketing at Advisor Partners, a startup firm that handled tax-managed, index-based separate accounts. There she helped assets grow from $30 million ot $300 million.

Before that, she served as a vice president at JP Morgan, where she helped build the firm's separate account, mutual fund and sub-advisory arms.

You can keep track of her adventures, and latest projects, on her website: Connecting Growth Globally
