401(k) folks in Philly and D.C., indie B-D execs in D.C., and fundsters golfing in New England are a few of the events on the agenda this week.

Today BPAS CEO Barry Kublin and his team will kick off the Utica, New York-based 401(k) recordkeeper's annual conference at the Hilton at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. The three-day event is geared towards BPAS' intermediary allies, like 401(k) plan advisors (KPAs) and banks. The BPAS conference's big sponsors include: Capital Group's America Funds; Federated; GRP Advisor Alliance; Principal; Prudential; and T. Rowe Price.

Also today, the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) team is hosting a Focus on Next Generation Clients, Advisors, and Technology. The one-day event will be at the Hilton in the San Francisco Financial District, and key sponsors include Nationwide and TD Ameritrade Institutional. Speakers scheduled to take the main stage include Alexandra Douwes, co-founder of Purpose Generation, and Julie Littlechild, founder of AbsoluteEngagement.com.

Tomorrow the Financial Services Institute (FSI) team will host FSI Capitol Hill Day 2017. The independent broker-dealer trade group's two-day event will take place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. The idea is for indie B-D insiders to be citizen lobbyists on Capitol Hill.

Also tomorrow, Karl Dasher and his team at Schroders will gather reporters for a fixed income breakfast roundtable titled "The Next 100 Days." The event, which will be held at Schroders' offices in New York City, will feature several Schroders speakers, including: Andy Chorlton, head of U.S. multi-sector fixed income; Jim Barrineau, co-head of emerging markets debt relative; Michelle Russell-Dowe, head of securitized credit; Martha Metcalf, U.S. fixed income PM; and Dasher himself, CEO and co-head of fixed income, North America.

On Wednesday Joe Neuberger and his U.S. Bancorps Fund Services team will host their 2017 client conference at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Neuberger's predecessor, Joe Redwine, will be one of the many speakers taking the stage at the three-day conference for the fund firms supported by U.S. Bancorps Fund Services. The conference is being sponsored by a host of industry vendors, including: Argo Pro; BBD; Cohen & Co; Confluence; Drinker Biddle; Godfrey Kahn; Gunn, Steers; ICE Data Services; MARS Salesfocus Solutions; Merrill Corporation; RSM; Stradley Ronon; Tait Weller; and Thomson Reuters.

Also on Wednesday, the PlanSponsor magazine team will kick off their 2017 national conference, this time at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C. The three-day event is geared towards retirement plan sponsors and is supported by a host of companies, including fund firms like: American Century; Capital Group's American Funds; BlackRock; Charles Schwab; First Eagle; Franklin Templeton; Invesco; John Hancock; Nationwide; Neuberger Berman; Pacific Life; Prudential; SEI; T. Rowe Price; UBS; and Wells Fargo.

On Thursday Frank Heavey and his Expect Miracles Foundation team will host the charity's 23rd annual East Coast Classic golf tournament at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Invesco, John Hancock, and Pru's PGIM Investments are some of the sponsors of the sold out tournament.

Also on Thursday, Matt Hougan and his Inside ETFs team at Informa will kick off their second annual Inside Smart Beta conference at Convene Midtown West in New York City. The two-day event has a host of sponsors, including J.P. Morgan Asset Management and Vanguard. Speakers scheduled to take the main stage include: Rob Arnott, founder and chairman of Research Affiliates; Andrew Beer, founder and managing partner at Beachhead Capital Management; Kevin O'Leary, founder and chairman of O'Shares Investments; Luciano Siracusano, chief investment strategist at WisdomTree Asset Management; Lukas Smart, vice president and senior PM, Dimensional Fund Advisors; Michael Swell, co-head of global portfolio management at Goldman Sachs Asset Management; and a host of others.
