OppenheimerFunds [
see profile] is making a break from traditional print ads and brochures. It is instead stepping up efforts in digital marketing,
InvestmentNews reports.
"Digital used to be Pluto, but now it's come to the center of our marketing solar system," OppenheimerFunds chief marketing officer Marty Willis told the pub.
QR ads in magazines include codes which readers can scan with their smart phones to see portfolio managers' online commentaries, according to the report.
In September, the New York-based mutual fund firm rolled out the QR campaign spotlighting its Rochester municipal bond funds. Company officials hope to broaden the marketing campaign next year to include global products.
