Longtime BoNY CIO Moves On

Reported by Erin Kello

Kevin Bannon, Bank of New York's chief investment officer for more than a decade, has moved on in the wake of the firm's merger with Mellon.

Bannon headed BoNY's private client asset management and served as president of the BNY Hamilton Funds.

Bannon was offered a position in the combined company, but he decided to leave the firm in early July to pursue other opportunities, a Bank of New York Mellon spokesman said.

The merger closed on July 1.

The CIO duties have been assumed by individual investment officers with BoNY Mellon's asset management department, the spokesman added.

Bannon, who joined BoNY in 1979, had served as CIO since 1993.
