Huntington Goes Higher Tech

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

Joe Rezabek and his team are connecting Huntington Asset Services' clients with a software developing shop. Rezabek and Jeff Young, senior vice president of relationship management, confirmed that Huntingon has a new alliance with Celera Systems.

"We try to bring tools and knowledge and relationships and capabilities," Rezabek told MFWire. "Celera is just one example."

"We first became acquainted with Celera because of their 22c-2 product," Young told MFWire pointing to the anti-market-timing regulations implemented a few years ago.

Celera offers sales and performance reporting, and Young said that the alliance means Huntington's fundster clients will be able "to get analytics in a very easy and cost-effective manner."

"We had a client start with them over a year ago. They really liked the tool," Young said. "We just began to expand the relationship [with Celera]."

The partnership means Huntington's clients will have better pricing for Celera's services.

Meanwhile, Rezabek confirmed that Huntington Asset Services is holding its annual forum (for clients and prospects) in mid-September.

"This year's theme is around messaging and the importance of messaging by the advisors of mutual fund," Young said.

Speakers will include Neil Bathon of Fuse and Dan Sondhelm of SunStar. Young expects about 75 attendees representing more than 30 mutual fund families.

Rezabek, who took over as Huntington Asset Services' president earlier this year, confirmed that his team of about 100 people now works with about $45 billion in assets.
