President Obama has tapped Pimco [profile] CEO Mohamed El-Erian to lead the Global Development Council, a presidential council created to improve public-private cooperation and global economic development.

The news ran in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and the Huffington Post.

The Global Development Council was created in February to promote good governance worldwide. El-Erian's role at Pimco won't change, according to Bloomberg.
