Placemark Lures Advisor Sales Folk from Fido, Schwab

Placemark Investments has named two new vice presidents to its Investment Advisory Solutions team: Scott Smith and Michelle Barbiere.

Scott Smith has fifteen years of experience in financial services in both sales and relationship management roles. Most recently, Scott was Vice President of Sales at Fidelity [profile], working for Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services in the Midwest. Before his time with Fidelity, Scott was a Relationship Manager at Schwab's [profile] Schwab Advisor Services in New York City. He will be based in Chicago, Illinois.

Michelle Barbiere has been in the financial services Industry for twenty-one years working directly with registered investment advisors and money managers that offer mutual funds and separately managed accounts. Michelle's most recent positions include Vice President of Business Strategy at Merrill Lynch and Relationship Manager at Schwab Advisor Services. She will be based in Evergreen, Colorado.

I believe we are well-positioned to expand our services to RIAs, and I am confident that bringing on two additional people with Michelle and Scott's exposure will accelerate our growth," stated Lee Chertavian, Chairman and CEO of Placemark Investments.

Erik Preus, Executive Vice President and head of Placemark's Investment Advisory Solutions team, stated, "I am excited to have Scott and Michelle join the Placemark team.
