Steven Bloom is the first recipient of Rydex Investments' Skip Viragh award.

Bloom received the award for his work in developing the Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipts (SPDR), the first exchange-traded fund. The award ceremony took place at the Financial Advisor Symposium on October 6.

The award, dedicated to Rydex's founder, seeks to award an individual or company that impacts financial advisors and clients in a positive manner.
