Pat Allen, the vice president of electronic communications at Scudder Kemper has left the Chicago firm to join crosstown asset manager Van Kampen Funds as its new senior vice president and director of marketing communications.

Allen's focus will be on introducing electronic communication capabilities to the company's collateral materials, according to a company spokesperson. She is replacing Christina Schmieder, who has left Van Kampen to join Bank of America Advisors.

Van Kampen also tapped ex-Scudder director of marketing David Swanson in January of 2000 to be executive vice president and chief marketing officer.
