Ameriprise Says Goodbye to a Top Asset Management Exec

News summary by MFWire's editors

A top Ameriprise asset management executive is departing.

Crispin Henderson, the former chief executive of Ameriprise subsidiary and Columbia sibling Threadneedle, is retiring by the end of this week, according to Investment Week.

Henderson, who had stepped away from his job as Threadneedle's CEO in March, had also served as Ameriprise's vice chairman of global asset management since December 2012.

Threadneedle sub-advises some funds at corporate sibling Columbia.

According to Investment Week, Henderson had first joined Threadneedle as chief operating officer in 2002. He became managing director in 2006 and then CEO in 2007. During his career he witnessed Threadneedle's sale to American Express in 2003, as well as its spinoff as part of Ameriprise in 2005.
