A Lifetime with MFS

MFS Investments has filed for a four fund series of age-targeted asset allocation funds called the MFS Lifetime funds.

MFS Lifetime 2010 target allocation is 35 percent domestic stock, 5 percent international stock, 50 percent bonds and 10 percent cash.

The Lifetime 2020 is targeted to have 60 percent in domestic stocks, 20 percent in international stocks and 20 percent in bonds.

The aggressive Lifetime 2030 and Lifetime 2040 funds have the same all equity allocation: 80 percent domestic stocks and 20 percent international stocks.

The funds of MFS funds also include an MFS Lifetime Retirement Income Fund, which is made up of 20 percent stocks, 70 percent bonds and 10 percent cash.

When funds reach their target date, their portfolios will be structured to match and keep the asset allocation of the Retirement Income Fund.

The funds' operating expense information was not available in the July 1 filing.
