Manager Swaps: Pru, OppenheimerFunds

Prudential Investments has added two new subadvisors to its Strategic Partners Small Cap Value Fund to boost that fund's asset capacity.

Lee Munder Capital Group and JPMorgan Asset Management join existing managers NFJ Investment Group and EARNEST Partners.

"While other mutual fund companies are closing their small cap funds because of capacity issues, we are adding two highly regarded small cap managers," said Brian Ahrens, director of investment manager research for Prudential Investments.

The Strategic Partners Small Cap Value Fund has approximately $125 million in assets.

OppenheimerFunds portfolio manager Jane Putnam will take a leave of absence starting at the end of 2005. Putnam manages the Oppenheimer Capital Appreciation Fund, the Oppenheimer Capital Appreciation Fund/VA and other growth portfolios.

Senior investment officer and director of equities Bill Wilby will co-manage Putnam's Capital Appreciation funds with new hire Marc Baylin. Wilby also co-manages the Oppenheimer Global Fund and the Oppenheimer Global Securities Fund/VA.

Baylin is expected to join the firm in early September from JPMorgan Asset Management. At JPMorgan, Baylin was a managing director and lead portfolio manager for large-cap growth.
