BlackRock Taps Fund Execs


BlackRock has hired away two fund firm executives for positions with its Private Client Group.

John Brett is now the head of sales at BlackRock's PCG. He was formerly a director of strategic relationship group at Lord Abbett.

Sheila Lamb joins the New York-headquartered firm as managing director and head of marketing and product development. Lamb leaves a similar role at Columbia Management.

Both report to Anne Ackerley, head of BlackRock's Private Client Group.

Jason Farago, spokesman for Lord Abbett did not immediately return a call seeking comment on a replacement for Brett.

Columbia spokesman Tom Gariepy said that due to restructuring, Columbia would not hire a replacement for Lamb.
