Thursday, September 22, 2005 Janus Adds to Institutional Sales Team Janus has hired Daniel Charles as vice president of institutional sales. Charles will be responsible for sales in the corporate, endowment and foundations sectors. He reports to Jack Swift, head of institutional sales. Charles' position is a newly created role, said spokeswoman Shelley Peterson. Peterson could not immediately comment on additional hires within Janus Institutional, but added that the unit has doubled in size since head John Zimmerman joined one year ago. Prior to joining Janus, Charles worked at Bank of America in St. Louis -- also the prior employer of Zimmerman before he joined Janus. As national head of sales for Bank of America Institutional Investment Solutions, Zimmerman was responsible for the retirement and non-profit markets. Jon Bernstein, Bank of America spokesman, did not immediately return a call seeking comment on a replacement for Charles.
