ICON Names New Portfolio Manager For Three Funds

ICON Advisers has named a new portfolio manager for three of its funds. The Greenwood Village, Colorado-based firm has turned to Todd Burchett to run the ICON Telecommunication & Utilities, Industrials and Bond Funds.

The funds were previously managed by Robert Straus, J.C. Waller and Derek Rollingson, respectively.

Burchett, who joined ICON in August 2005 as a research analyst, took the helm at the funds effective January 31. He was also appointed co-portfolio manager of the ICON Equity Fund, joining Straus, Waller and Rollingson.

"Before, all fund managers managed four funds each," a company spokesperson said. With Burchett's promotion, "all now manage three funds apiece, plus the ICON Equity Fund." Meanwhile, ICON has promoted Scott Callahan to assistant portfolio manager.

In his new role, Callahan, who joined the firm as a research analyst in January 2005, is not assigned to any specific fund, said public relations director Cynthia Crossland.

"ICON’s funds are all managed with the same discipline; therefore, Callahan is able to assist wherever necessary," Crossland said.
