Schroder Eyes Fee Hike For Two Funds

Schroder Investment Management is planning to raise management fees on two of its funds. The board of trustees of the New York-based firm had approved 25-basis-point hikes for the Schroder International Alpha Fund and Schroder U.S. Opportunities Fund.

The proposed amendments will be taken up at a shareholder meeting on March 23, according to a regulatory filing.

The proposal would increase the annual rate to 0.975 percent for the International Alpha Fund and 1 percent for the U.S. Opportunities Fund.

"The funds' fee levels were set in the past at levels that Schroders does not believe reflect the financial commitment it has made to the investment management of the funds today," Schroders said in its proxy statement filed with the SEC last month.

The firm added that current fee levels aren't in sync with those it charges to other similar clients throughout the world.

If approved by shareholders, the changes will be implemented on or about March 31.
