Not a Ton of BRICs in New Dow Index

It's time for an index to track the popular Brazil, Russia, India and China emerging markets sectors, reckons Dow Jones Indexes. But the Dow Jones BRIC 50 Index is, as its name suggests, concentrated on only 50 of the largest and most tradable companies in the four big nations.

Launched Wednesday, the index includes 15 holdings each in Brazil, India, and China, and 5 from the smaller Russian market. No component will be weighted at more than 10 percent of the index's total market capitalization. A full listing of the companies included is available at Dow Jones Newswires.
