The San Mateo, California-based fund company is giving investors access to REITs on a global scale with the Franklin Global Real Estate Fund, a portfolio with a reach into real estate markets around the world. Like ING Funds, which has had a global real estate fund for almost five years and rolled out its ING International Real Estate Fund last March, Franklin is looking to tap into the gradually increasing number of nations with REIT structures in place.
