Vanguard Brings Its Low-Cost Shares to EM Fund

Vanguard is handing out some of its wonted deep discounts on its $9.6 billion Emerging Markets Stock Index Fund. Admiral Shares of the fund will carry an expense ratio of only 30 basis points, but will be available only to investors who either maintain a balance of at least $100,000 in the fund, or a balance of at least $50,000 having held the fund for ten years or more.

Established twelve years ago, the Emerging Markets Stock Index Fund goes after stocks in companies located in 18 emerging markets throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Admiral Shares are now available on sixty-five Vanguard funds – the lowest have expense ratios of a mere 9 basis points.
