No Hard Feelings in Janus Succession

Tensions often hang in the air when an employee leaves a company, but in occasional cases you can see the parties still playing golf together. The amicable scenario seems to apply in the departure of Janus Capital Group's treasurer.

Stephen Belgrad has left Janus to join the executive management team of Boston-based asset management firm Affiliated Managers Group.

He will be replaced by Janus's vice president of corporate finance and development Scott Grace, who took over Belgrad's duties June 2.

AMG announced the move Monday.

Janus chief financial officer Dave Martin was undestanding of Belgrad's decision. "We are sorry to see him go, but his family's in Boston," Martin told the MFWire. "He's got a great opportunity at AMG, and on a personal level, we're very happy for him."

Of Grace, Martin said, "It's been a very smooth transition. We're excited we had somebody of his caliber ready to step up."
