Two Join Stradley Ronon

Former Drinker Biddle partner Kenneth Greenberg and counsel Joan Ohlbaum Swirsky have joined Stradley Ronon. Greenberg joins as a partner and Swirsky joins as counsel. The two will advise Stradley Ronon’s clients on regulatory compliance and general corporate matters under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

Stradley Ronon has added former Drinker Biddle partner Kenneth Greenberg and counsel Joan Ohlbaum Swirsky to its nationally recognized investment management/mutual funds group. Greenberg, who joins as a partner, and Swirsky, who joins as of counsel, are both based in the firm’s Philadelphia office.

With a combined 40 years of experience counseling investment companies, investment advisers and broker-dealers, Greenberg and Swirsky will advise Stradley Ronon’s clients on regulatory compliance and general corporate matters under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

“We’re thrilled to welcome such experienced 40 Act attorneys to our group,” said Bruce G. Leto, chair of Stradley Ronon’s investment management/mutual funds group. “With Ken and Joan’s range and depth of investment company experience, they will make an immediate contribution in serving our sophisticated client base.”

Greenberg joined Drinker Biddle as an associate in 1990 and was named partner in 1999. During his tenure, he represented investment companies, investment advisers and broker-dealers on a wide range of regulatory and compliance matters arising under federal and state securities laws.

As counsel at Drinker, Swirsky represented clients on a diverse range of investment company matters, with a specialty in issues related to money market funds operated in accordance with Rule 2a-7 under the Investment Company Act of 1940. She also advised investment company clients on matters including reorganizations, governance and compliance, and federal securities law issues.

Both Greenberg and Swirsky earned their law degrees from Harvard Law School. Greenberg graduated, summa cum laude, from Albright College in Reading, Pa., and Swirsky graduated, cum laude, from Cornell University.

In addition, the former assistant chief counsel in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management, Alison M. Fuller, has joined the firm’s investment management group as a partner in the Washington, D.C., office. Fuller will represent and counsel investment companies, investment advisers and broker-dealers on regulatory and compliance issues arising under federal and state securities laws.

With the addition of these three attorneys, Stradley Ronon’s investment management/mutual funds group now has more than 39 legal professionals exclusively dedicated to representing the investment management industry. The practice represents more than 700 separate funds and assets under management totaling nearly $1 trillion. Stradley Ronon’s clients include several of the largest investment company complexes in the country.
