Monday, July 16, 2007 Who's Up Next At Fidelity? Will Ned Johnson hand over the Fidelity reigns anytime soon, and will he hand them to his daughter Abby? The Boston Globe's Christopher Rowland doesn't give any clear answers. A Fidelity spokeswoman confirmed to Rowland that "a clear succession plan" exists and "is constantly maintained and updated ... should it be required," but she declined to reveal anything about the plan's details and insisted that Ned "doesn't have any plans to relinquish the role." Meanwhile, ex-Fido executives told Rowland that "the current structure ... is temporary," pointing to Johnson and two other high level septuagenarians as "placeholders." But temporary how?
