AIM Fills One of Two Vacant Sales Head Positions

AIM Investments has named John Cooper as the head of U.S. Sales. Cooper, 46, had been AIM's Director of Business Development and National Accounts.

Cooper had been spearheading the effort to find replacements for Gene Needles, the former president, CEO and chairman of AIM Distributors and James Steuve, the former executive vice president with AIM Distributors and director of retail sales with AIM Investments. Both were demoted and later left the company back in June of this year. (See, "Invesco Ousts AIM Distributors' Chief", MFWire 6/8/07)

Phil Taylor, Senior Managing Director and Head of INVESCO, said in a press release, "We had been conducting a search internally and externally for a sales leader for AIM in recent months and have determined that John is the right person to lead our sales activities in the U.S.."

A company spokesman told the MFWire that Cooper is replacing Needles, leaving Steuve's former position still up for grabs.
