Franklin Templeton In the Running to Buy Share in Italian Asset Manager


Franklin Templeton has been short-listed for a possible share in the Italian company, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA. Forbes reports the bank plans to sell 33 percent of its asset management business to an industrial partner. San Mateo, California-based Franklin is the only U.S.-based candidate on the list. Other companies in the running are; U.K. companies Henderson Global Investor and Schroder Investment Management and Swiss company Pictet & Cie.
