WSJ: Institutional Investors Stock Up on Convertible Bonds
In today's Wall Street Journal Fund Track column, Ann Keeton zeroes in on a Putnam mutual fund for convertible bonds, the Putnam Convertible Income-Growth Trust. The co-manager of the $800-million fund, David King, tells The Journal that institutional investors have been stocking up on convertible bonds with the recent turmoil in the stock and bond markets and added that retail investors might also want to consider such bonds. The Putnam fund is up almost 12 percent year to date.
