Cox's Consensus Conundrum

Chris Cox started his career at the SEC with a bang, striving to bring unity to the commission by getting a consensus from all five commissioners on every vote, the LA Times reports. Alas, time has passed and the unity that once reigned at the SEC is now a thing of the past. The Times' Jonathan Peterson writes that the "backlog of enforcement cases and unresolved policy issues affecting hedge funds and mutual fund governance" have raised questions about Cox's ability to reach a consensus. Also, the recent departure of Roel Campos and Annette Nazareth's decision not to seek re-nomination will bring a new period of uncertainty to the commission, SEC watchers tell the pub.
