Wednesday, October 24, 2007 Mutual-Fund Distributions in '07 Seen To Hit Record A number of experts in the fund industry are predicting that the total mutual-fund distributions this year will be highest ever, The Wall Street Journal's Eleanor Laise reports. In 2006, mutual funds paid $259 billion in capital-gains distributions, which was the highest since 2000. This year, payouts are expected to be even higher. The market turbulence this summer notwithstanding, stocks have moved up considerably, and some funds have also used up their supply of losses recorded during the last bear market.
