Franklin Templeton to Limit Access to Investors' SSNs


Franklin Templeton plans to put a cap on the number of staffers at its transfer agency with access to investors' social security numbers. Institutional Investor reports that on a conference call sponsored by The National Investment Company Service Organization and SEI, Leon Mulgrew, legal transfer special services director at Franklin, told told the audience that limiting access to sensitive data, like social security numbers is one of the best business practices a firm can use.
