Julius Baer Americas Gets an Artful New Moniker


Julius Baer Americas Inc. is now officially Artio Global Investors Inc. The change became official on Sunday. Company officials plan to rebrand their line of mutual funds with the Artio name this October.

Baer first put forth the name change in an SEC filing from earlier this year. In a February press release coinciding with the filing, Baer execs said they expect the IPO to be take place sometime this year.

A spokesman for Baer declined to comment Monday on a possible date for the IPO.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Julius Baer Americas Inc., a US subsidiary of Julius Baer Holding Ltd., has become Artio Global Investors Inc. effective June 15, 2008.

Artio Global Investors Inc., through its subsidiary Artio Global Management LLC (formerly Julius Baer Investment Management LLC), provides investment management services to institutional and, through its mutual funds, to retail clients. This subsidiary is best known for its international equity strategies.

Artio Global also expects to rebrand its suite of US-registered mutual funds in October to align them with the new corporate name. There will be no change to the investment manager or mutual fund ticker symbols upon completion of the rebranding.
