Profit Up at Janus, Down at Franklin


The Wall Street Journal's Greg Morcroft devoted the Friday Fund Track column to the report cards delivered by Janus Capital Group and Franklin Templeton on Thursday. Denver-based Janus saw second quarter earnings rise 36 percent to $66.3 million on revenue of $304.2 million. San Mateo, California-headquartered Franklin, meanwhile, posted a 14 percent drop in profit, earning $403.3 million in its third quarter. Revenue came in at $1.52 billion.
