Tuesday, February 10, 2009 An ETF Provider Returns From the Grave FocusShares wants to get back in the ETF game. On January 29 the Montvale, New Jersey-based firm filed with the SEC for the appropriate '40 Act exemption to launch the Progressive Principal Protection series of target date exchanged-traded funds, tracking indexes from Mergent. FocusShares launched its first four ETFs on the NYSE Arca in Fall 2007, yet it liquidated those same ETFs at the end of October 2008 (see MFWire, 11/30/2007 and 10/9/2008).
