Monday, March 2, 2009 Are Additional Layoffs Coming at AllianceBernstein? Is another round of staff cuts in the offing at AllianceBernstein? A source told The MFWire that the New York City-based investment manager is planning an additional headcount reduction this month. AllianceBernstein spokeswoman John Meyers declined to comment on whether additional layoffs are planned, saying only that the company is continuing with its cost-cutting efforts. "In view of the continuing adverse economic and market conditions, we are continuing with our expense reduction efforts," Meyers told The MFWire. In October, then-CEO Lew Sanders said the company was reducing its staff, with much of those layoffs set to be implemented in the final quarter of 2008.
