ProFunds Moves Downtown

ProFunds has moved, as in literally moved. The Bethesda, Maryland firm has moved just a few doors down on Wisconsin Avenue, but it is getting a more spacious office in a state-of-the-art building, Kirk Oberfeld, head of marketing at ProFunds, told the MutualFundWire.com.

So, does a physical move in office space mean that an expansion for the company is not far behind? Yes, responded Oberfeld. The firm currently has 70 employees and, with offices six times as large as its initial space, will be looking to grow that staffing further.

And ProFunds is prepared for the worst. The building has two emergency power generators as well as a third one that will act as a backup for the other two.

Not only is ProFunds mulling over staff additions, it is also considering new products for its lineup and enhancement to its customer support system.

"The new office will present an image consistent with the nature of our business and the high profile and strategic relationships we have developed. The space should help reinforce the degree of professionalism and expertise we strive to convey to potential third-party relationships and new employees we recruit to join the ProFunds team," added Michael Sapir, chairman of ProFunds.
