Putnam Trumpets a Milestone


Putnam Investments executives on Wednesday said the four absolute return funds they launched in January have exceeded $1 billion of assets as of Tuesday.

More than 300 brokerage and wirehouse firms and 4,800 financial advisors have sold the funds, said Putnam CEO Bob Reynolds in an interview.

"We've actually gotten there a little faster than we had originally thought," said Reynolds of the $1 billion milestone.

"It's a very successful launch," he added.
