MMA Praxis Unveils 'Genesis Portfolios'

As faith-based fund firms continue to gain converts, MMA Praxis seeks to entice investors with the debut of the 'Genesis Portfolios' – three fund of funds – on Monday.

The portfolios, which consist of '40 act funds, offer investors the ability to make “stewardship-minded” investments in a fund that employs a Conservative, Balanced, or Growth investment strategy.

According to the company's website, the Conservative fund is comprised of approximately 70 percent fixed income mutual funds and 30 percent equity mutual funds, the Balanced fund is 60 percent invested in equity funds and 40 percent invested in fixed income funds, and the Growth fund allocates roughly 80 percent to equity mutual funds and 20 percent to fixed income mutual funds. The portfolios will invest in a combination of MMA Praxis' six mutual funds and purchase the Class I shares of each fund.

Like other fund firms in the 'faith-based investing' arena, Indiana-based MMA Praxis adopts its own guidelines for determining portfolio selection criteria, taking into account shareholder advocacy and community development investing in addition to performance during the company selection process.

MMA Praxis Mutual Funds Announces New Genesis Portfolios

New Faith-Based Investing Option With a Choice of Allocation Strategy

GOSHEN, IN--(Marketwire - January 04, 2010) - MMA Praxis Mutual Funds announced today a new investment opportunity for investors; The MMA Praxis Genesis Portfolios. This investment option allows investors to choose from one of three portfolios -- Conservative, Balanced, and Growth -- allowing investors to select their preferred investment strategy.

A convenient approach to managing assets

An investment in MMA Praxis Genesis Portfolios provides a faith-based investing option within a convenient allocation strategy. Rather than an investor needing to decide how to allocate investment dollars across multiple funds to meet investment objectives, they can choose a single Genesis Portfolio that has an investment objective that may best suit his or her needs.

An investment in MMA Praxis... combining faith and finances At MMA Praxis, the company engages its Christian faith by seeking to integrate finances -- including investments -- with faith. This is part of MMA's stewardship investing philosophy.

There are three elements of stewardship investing MMA believes can help transform the world: company selection, shareholder advocacy, and community development investing.

In selecting companies for investment MMA is guided by its stewardship investing core values as well as financial performance. MMA is active in shareholder advocacy. If MMA finds a company they have invested in involved in activities that they believe will have a negative impact on individuals, communities or the environment, MMA will engage management to encourage positive change. The company also believes it is important to make resources available to distressed communities through the community development investments included in each fund.

The following applies to each fund within the Genesis Portfolio. The Fund is subject to asset allocation risk, which is the possibility that the selection by the Advisor of underlying funds and the allocation of Fund assets to those funds will cause the Fund to underperform. Because the value of the Fund's investments will fluctuate with market conditions and interest rates, so will the value of your investment in the Fund. You could lose money on your investment in the Fund, or the Fund could underperform other investments. Some of the Fund's holdings may underperform its other holdings. To the extent the Fund is invested in equity funds, it is susceptible to risks typically associated with equity investing, including that the stock market may decline in value and individual stocks held by the underlying funds may not perform as expected. To the extent the Fund is invested in bond funds, it is susceptible to risks typically associated with bond investing, including interest rate risk, or the chance that the value of the fixed-income securities the underlying funds hold will decline due to rising interest rates.

You should consider the fund's investment objectives, risks and charges and expenses carefully before you invest. The fund's prospectus contains this and other information. Call (800) 977-2947 or visit www.mmapraxis.com for a prospectus, which you should read carefully before you invest. MMA Praxis Mutual Funds are distributed through BHIL Distributors, Inc. Member FINRA. Investment products offered are not FDIC insured, may lose value, and have no bank guarantee.

There may be additional fees or expenses associated with investing in a Fund of Funds strategy.
