Direxion Aims a New Sales Exec at Hedge Funds

Giving an institutional boost to its sales team, Direxion Funds –- a leveraged index specialist -- welcomed Sylvia Jablonski to its team in mid-November as vice president of business development, a company executive confirmed. Jablonski's role is new and she reports to Bill Franka, executive vice president of distribution at Direxion.

In this position, Jablonski concentrates on product education, information delivery, and trading strategy implementation for institutional clients, like hedge funds.

“We needed to bring on someone who would focus on institutional relationship management as [Direxion] continues to grow,” Andy O'Rourke, senior vice president of marketing, told The MFWire.

Jablonski joined Direxion from Societe Generale, where she worked in a sales and product development capacity within the Swiss bank's global equity derivatives division, focusing on the asset management, hedge fund, and pension and endowment client areas. Before Societe Generale, Jablonski worked at Deutsche Bank Securities in various roles, including strategy, product development, and relationship management within the Global Equity Derivatives/Total Return Swaps space.

Direxion is not looking to make any additional immediate hires to its sales team according to O'Rourke but the company is continuing to grow.

Boston-based Rafferty Asset Management (RAM) advises the Direxion funds.
