PIMCO's Managers Lead the Pack in Advisors' Minds

Advisors rate PIMCO and Allianz the highest among mutual fund firms for manager experience and knowledge, according to kasina and Horsesmouth's second benchmarking survey of 3,003 financial intermediaries. PIMCO/Allianz Funds rose from third place in Q2 2009 to first place in Q4 2009. Fundsters may not be surprised, given the fame of superstar Pimco fund manager Bill Gross, whom The New York Times called "the nation's most prominent bond investor."

American Funds came in second place in the survey, and Ivy Funds, Black Rock, and Natixis Funds came in third, fourth, and fifth. Advisors were asked specifically to rank 21 mutual fund companies. The findings are a part of kasina and Horsesmouth's FA Vision service, and came from data obtained between October 19 and November 12, 2009.
