They can purchase shares in a hedge fund-of-funds with an initial investment of just $5,000 to $25,000 rather than the usual $100,000 to $1 million. The article says the advantages of these products over mutual funds include that they "have more flexibility than regular stock mutual funds, [and] can take bets on markets moving in both directions." Total assets in these funds is now $19.7 billion in Europe.
