CSAM President To Leave

Moffett Cochran, the president of Credit Suisse Asset Management - Americas, will be leaving on July 31.

"Over the last 8 months he's been working with me to integrate the merger," said Jim McCaughan, chief executive officer of CSAM-Americas. "Having done that, he decided that it's time to move on."

According to an internal memo signed by Phillip Colebatch, chief executive officer of CSAM, Cochran has no immediate plans for his future.

"It's a generalization," said McCaughan, when the MutualFundWire asked if Cochran's departure was an effect of the DLJ-CSAM merger, "but it takes a little bit of time for people to work out how they're placed within the organization."

The position of president of CSAM - Americas was created in the fall of 2000 to accomodate the former DLJ Asset Management Group chairman and chief executive officer.

CSAM has global assets under management of more than $300 billion.
