Friday, August 20, 1999 SEI Takes the Amerindo Challenge Amerindo Investment Advisors has selected SEI Investments to provide administrative support and distribution services for its separate accounts and high-flying Amerindo Technology Fund.
"We are providing the whole compliance department, call centers, fund accounting and strategic planning," Richard B. Lieb, president of SEI's Investment Systems and Services group. As part of their expansion strategy, Amerindo and SEI plan to add additional share classes to make the fund more attractive to fee-based registered investment advisers, financial planners and broker-dealer firms. SEI will provide wholesaling support for these new distribution channels. The big issue SEI is going to focus on, according to Lieb, is strengthening the funds' exposure to fee based financial planners. The next move will be to get Amerindo onto the Internet by "building them a customized site which would include prospectuses and performance information," Lieb said. The site is expected to go live after the new year. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=24552 Copyright 1999, InvestmentWires, Inc. All Rights Reserved |
