Canadian Firm Launches Funds with Templeton


Investors Group Inc., will offer a new series of global funds, advised by Templeton Management Limited, the Canadian subsidiary of Franklin Templeton. subject to definitive agreements and regulatory approval.

"This arrangement enhances Investor Group's global product offerings and provides our clients with a meaningful choice of fund management styles."

Investors Group currently offers 41 of its own Masters Select funds, as well as 16 others in partnership with four other companies: Merrill Lynch Asset Management, Rothschild Select, Sceptre Investment Counsel, and Beutel, Goodman and Company, Ltd.

"With Investor's Group, we share a similar long-term investment philosophy. Templeton's approach seeks out companies which are trading at a fraction of what our research indicates them to be worth. The new series will be the company's first alliance with Templeton and represents the latest move in an ongoing product-shelf expansion, according to a company spokesperson. Investor's Group will be also be adding a Quebec fund and several MAXXUM funds in the upcoming months.
