Friday, April 16, 1999 DIA Replaces Ark with Newly Private RSIM Diversified Investment Advisors has hired Robertson Stephens Investment Management to replace Ark Asset Management as manager of a $219 million small-cap portfolio in its $874 million Diversified Special Equity mutual fund. The portfolio managers at Robertson Stephens will be Dave Evans and Rai Reyes, who also co-manage the Robertson Stephens MicroCap Growth fund. Robertson Stephens Investment Management (RSIM) recently announced that it had completed the purchase of the firm from Bank of America by a group of RSIM senior managers led by G. Randy Hecht, president and ceo, and founding partner Paul Stephens. The new company is known as RS Investment Management Co. LLC. "We are excited that with the buyout we have become an independent firm focused exclusively on the investment management business," Hecht has said. "We believe that our new firm offers a great platform for us to continue providing optimal investment performance for our clients and to offer our professionals an entrepreneurial work environment."
